Who we are, What we do, and Why we do it

Who we are
We are Urs and Diane Brunner, owner operators of Auld Reekie Lodge. Prior to owning Auld Reekie, we managed and operated a dairy farm in southern Ontario in a little town called Tavistock. Urs grew up in Switzerland and I, Diane, grew up in Sudbury, Ontario. How did a Swiss guy and a Canadian girl get together you ask? Well it is quite a different story than you have ever heard before...
Urs moved to Canada on the farm in 1992 and I moved from Sudbury to Kitchener (which is only 20 min. from Tavistock) in 1994. Urs' sister was getting married and he decided to take dance lessons. I moved to Kitchener to take a position as a Ballroom Dance Instructor. Urs showed up for his lesson and I was his teacher. It was love at first sight. I went with Urs as his date to his sister's wedding in Switzerland. Six months after we met, we were married and started our family.
Now years later, we have four children, Shawna, Stephanie, David and Daniel and living our dream in Northern Ontario.
